Ketek - Recall Guide

KETEK may be administered without dosage adjustment in the presence of hepatic impairment. In the presence of severe renal impairment (CLCR < 30 mL/min), including patients who need dialysis, the dose should be reduced to KETEK 600 mg once daily. In patients undergoing hemodialysis, KETEK should be given after the dialysis session on dialysis days.

  • Can a doctor prescribe Ketek without a prophylactic indication?

    Prescribing KETEK in the absence of a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection or a prophylactic indication is unlikely to provide benefit to the patient and increases the risk of the development of drug-resistant bacteria. Telithromycin is principally excreted via the liver and kidney.
