I use the included stereo mic, headphone, PTT switch adapter most of the time (just like cans better) The included USB CAT/Firmware update cable is NOT FTDI, but has driverless compatibility with Windows 10; The TX-500 is a great little rig. All of the issues I had, where because I didn't read the manual.

I can't seem to find out anything about the origin of the company. The manual and the HRO website refers to: Lab599 Komsomolskaya 118, Office 10 Rubtsovsk, Altai Region 658200 I can't seem to find any reference to the company on the FCC website.

Contrary to most other battery packs Lab599 takes a different approach by providing a case for standard sized cells. You then provide the batteries which makes this pack recyclable for a long time by just replacing failing cells with new ones.
For a first-time entry into the HF/VHF portable transceiver market, I think Lab 599 hit a home run. Nicely done and with a unique, novel approach. Very well thought out. I give it 5 stars. With eHam.net Reviews subscriptions, you can receive all messages posted to a product via email.
The Lab599 TX500 is an excellent, rugged QRP rig. I compared the Rx to the KX2 and could find no differences. The antenna used will determine success much more than the rig. I have worked coast to coast with a resonant 40m EFHW. The TX500 is also excellent for FT8.

The Discovery TX-500 is the first portable ham radio which can actually survive the rigors of field operations, in rough weather, and conditions. I had the pleasure of testing this radio for 3 weeks during August 2020. It was an absolute pleasure to use, without the normal worries of damaging the rig, during some forest mishap.
