Jan 05, 2010 . Here at Mercenary Audio, we have been evaluating the LaChapell 992 EG. We have not been able to take it out of the studio since it came to us. The 992 has more headroom than I know what to do with. I can't get this thing to distort no matter how hard I try. It has a very wide frequency response that favors even the dullest of microphones.
