The LAMS is not a substitute for a full neurologic exam or NIHSS assessment by a stroke specialist. It is a screening tool to assist with transport and triage decisions in the prehospital environment.

Glulam is an engineered wood product that optimizes the structural values of a renewable resource – wood. Glulam members are composed of individual pieces of dimension lumber. The pieces are end-jointed together to produce long lengths which are then bonded together with adhesives to create the required beam dimensions.
Glulam products typically range in net widths from 2-1/2 to 10-3/4 inches, although virtu- ally any member width can be custom produced. Because they are engineered products, glued laminated timbers are manufactured to meet a range of design stresses. Beams are manufactured with the strongest LAMS on
