  • How should we use language to use long-acting medications?

    Use language that is less frightening and stigmatizing by referring to LAMS as long-acting medications rather than “the IM” for intramuscular injection, long-acting injectables or “the needle.” To make informed decisions, patients must be educated about the potential risks and benefits of oral vs. injectable medications.
