Apr 17, 2012 . Part of this characteristic is attributable to wing loading. At 25 pounds per square foot of wing, the Lancair 235/360 is well into high-performance, single-engine land; a Mooney’s wing load is 19 psf, and a Bonanza’s slightly more. This tells us the Lancair flies a bit hotter, and with less wing it also lands faster.

Oct 04, 2014 . The Cessna's wing area is 141 ft^2 whereas the Lancair's is 98Ft^2. Since they have essentially the same gross weight, the wing loadings are vastly different. The Cessna comes in at 25 lb/ft^2, with the Lancair at 35 lb/ft^2. This drives a much higher stall speed for the Lancair and much higher speeds in all aspects of flight. kyleb, Oct 2, 2014 #4
