Hill Launch Assist (HLA) functions to assist in accelerating the vehicle from a stop on uphill slopes. When the vehicle is held at a stop by depressing the brake pedal on a slope with a grade of 3 % (MT vehicle), or 10 % or more (AT vehicle), the brake fluid pressure is maintained to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards even after the driver’s foot is released from the brake pedal.

Launch Assist is enabled by default. This feature helps bring the aircraft back to a level position when the pilot is not actively giving input. A lot of work has been done with this tune to make sure it doesn’t feel unnatural or mechanical.
When you take your foot off the brake to put it on the accelerator, the system holds the brake pressure for up to three seconds to give you time to press the accelerator. The sensors in an accelerometer measure the longitudinal incline of the slope.
