Layer3 implements an energy saver feature so it saves bandwidth in case you're not watching TV. A person watching TV will need to interact with the service and press a button on the remove when an energy saver mode kicks in. If you don't interact with the layer3 then it goes into screensaver mode.

Layer3 TV is of course new and for as young as they are the service is very good and cheaper that Comcast here in the Chicago area. Remember that you need to keep your internet provider since this service rides atop of it. Main box connects to your router so you might need to move some things around a bit.
