  • What are the laser safety guidelines?

    • Keep the beam path above or below eye level for one seated or standing. • Laser safety eyewear may be needed if MPE (Maximum Permissible Exposure) is exceeded. • Don’t view beam directly with optical instruments unless a protective filter is used. • Only experienced and authorized individuals are permitted to operate the laser.

    I have an older LAZER Safe LZS-003 / LZS-003-HS retrofit system. Can you provide user manuals and guides? Yes we can.   • How can I comment on the laser safety program and manual?

    Comments on the program and manual content are always welcome and may be addressed to either the Laser Safety Officer or the Laser Safety Committee. The information contained in this manual is based on the American National Standard for the Safe Use of Lasers, ANSI Z136.1-2000.

  • How to assess the overall hazard related to laser operation?

    In assessing the overall hazard related to laser operation, personnel and environmental related factors must be considered, such as level of safety training, and existence of non-laser operators in same laboratory. The Food and Drug Administration requires that manufacturers classify their laser products.
