Leak Stereo 130 Review • Blast from the past! Who would have thought that almost 40 years after the release of the last serial amplifier, Leak would suddenly wake up and, looking around, not paying attention to the worldwide lockdown, would show the light of its new creations: Leak Stereo 130 integrated amplifier and Leak CDT CD transport.
Understanding that convenience is a big selling factor for both the general punter and modern-day audiophile, the Leak Stereo 130 also includes Bluetooth support, supporting the high (er) resolution aptX codec.
One can enjoy CD-quality audio over the Bluetooth wireless connection. To accommodate the modern-day music enthusiast fully, much effort has been made to ensure the Leak STEREO 130 ’s digital circuitry delivers the level of quality one might expect of a high-performance standalone D/A converter, let alone an integrated amplifier solution.
The Stereo 130 includes a ¼-inch headphone jack on the front panel. Like its other sections, the headphone out is equally balanced in performance to the rest of the amplifier. Running a gamut of phones in the $100-$400 range from Grado, Audeze, and Sennheiser reveals excellent performance here as well.

The Leak Stereo 130 is what I like to call a full-function integrated amplifier as it includes a Moving Magnet (MM) phono input, a DAC, and a headphone amplifier. Digital to analog conversion comes courtesy of the ESS Sabre32 Reference ES9018K2M DAC which can handle PCM resolutions up to 24bit/384kHz and DSD to DSD256 via USB.
