The company was acquired by the American conglomerate Bangor Punta in 1973 and then became part of Lear Siegler when it bought out Bangor Punta in 1984. As part of Lear Siegler's restructuring in the late 1980s the Ranger line was discontinued, the design contract with Mull was terminated, and the division was dissolved in 1987.

Among the most successful projects was in commissioning Uffa Fox to design the DAYSAILER in 1969. Eventually, more than 12000 of these were sold. O’Day sold his company to the conglomerate Bangor Punta (later Lear Siegler) in 1966. For a number of years, O’Day Corp. was the largest producer of sailboats in the US.
Lear Siegler Inc. (LSI) produced furnaces for mobiles homes. Lear Siegler sold its Miller Heating and Air Conditioning brand to Nortek and no longer produces HVAC equipment. Miller Heating and Cooling is now a subsidiary of Nortek. Nortek Global HVAC had revenue of approximately $642 million in 2017.
