If you try your hand at bouldering, you can look for an introductory class or outing. Or you can go with experienced climbers who can act as spotters while you climb. Although you're relatively close to the ground, the risk of injury is still present. Top-rope climbing outdoors will be similar to your gym experience.
But, before you attempt your own climb, you first need to master technical skills and acquire a sense for how to travel in the mountains. While it’s possible to learn from an experienced mentor or friend, we recommend signing up for classes taught by trained professionals.
Like any outdoor activity, climbing has a code of conduct. This extension of Leave No Trace principles, though, is critically important because huge numbers of gym climbers are making the move into a very limited number of outdoor climbing areas.

Climbing Techniques: Climbing Efficiently. Learn how to use less energy and how to give your muscles a break as you climb: Straight arms are happy arms. Straightening your arm allows your skeleton to take most of the weight, not your muscles. Even a slight bend in your elbow means your muscles are working to hold it there.
Use the quick release skewer (1) included with the CLIMB. Insert the quick release skewer (1) into the KICKR CLIMB. Lower your fork (2) to fully seat the fork’s dropouts on the skewer. Ensure the fork is level and the dropouts are lowered completely onto the skewer to prevent injury or damage.
