Lec fridges and freezers come in a wide range of sizes from small counter-top units to upright pharmacy fridges. In their ongoing efforts to make medical refrigeration as easy as possible, Lec's new temperature loggers record the true temperature of stored vaccines as well as air temperature.
By the 1980s, the company was known as Lec Refrigeration plc, an LSE listed company. In March 1993, the company laid off staff, and its workforce dropped to below 1,000, when it decided to import its compressors from Denmark instead of making them itself.
In 1970, the Co Op ( Co-operative Wholesale Society) decided to produce its own range of freezers, manufactured by Lec, which retailed at £93. In 1973, it opened a factory in Northern Ireland.

Transporting and moving your Lec Medical refrigerator The refrigerator must always be moved in the vertical position. The cabinet must not be tilted anymore than 40°. In the event that the cabinet is tilted more than 40°, the power supply must not be connected until the appliance has stood upright for at least 24 hours.
