Feb 16, 2022 . Leclerc looms were manufactured with a "Leclerc" or "Nilus Leclerc" logo on the side or front. This logo changed over time and can be a way to help date the age of a loom. Our Leclerc Logo Guide shows the dates we believe these logos were used. Note that logos saying "Nilus Leclerc" on the side indicate the company name and not the "Nilus" loom model.

Jan 31, 2022 . Leclerc recommends aprons be used in all their heavy floor looms with 3 1/2 inch beams. Made of heavy canvas, these aprons are hemmed all around to prevent fraying and have a sleeve with slits at one side designed to fit a warp rod. The second warp rod is normally lashed to the first using Nylon Cord.

If you want to weave large pieces of cloth then a wider loom would be better but do be careful as anything above 25" in width can be cumbersome to weave on so we would recommend a stand for the loom to go on. 20-25" is a really good size to get and remember that you can weave from 8" wide up to the full width on the loom depending on your project.

Nov 24, 2013 . This is a Medico table loom, manufactured by Leclerc, a Canadian company. Research suggests this loom was manufactured for WWII veterans to use. As such it utilizes hand levers for changing the shed. But as you can clearly see in this picture, I have the floor stand which includes six treadles, essentially making it a floor loom.

On many Leclerc floor looms made after the mid 1950's, the Cloth Beam and the Warp Beam (a number of years later) were designed to be removable by mounting them in slots in the frame and holding them in place using a metal latch. This allows the beams to be removed to give the weaver better access while they warp the loom.
These "Square Head" screws, are not commonly found outside of Canada, and a special screwdriver was provided with the loom by Leclerc for assembly. The standard set of 2 screwdrivers includes 2 sizes (large and small tip) to fit most screws on the wide range of Leclerc table and floor looms.
