A servant appears to inform her of Duncan's approach. Energized by the news, Lady MacBeth invokes supernatural powers to strip her of feminine softness and thus prepare her for the murder of Duncan. When MacBeth arrives, Lady MacBeth tells him that she will plot Duncan's murder. When Duncan arrives at the castle, Lady MacBeth greets him alone.
MacBeth begins and ends in battle, the first with Duncan as king, the second with MacBeth has king. Compare and contrast the two battles. Note in particular MacBeth's role and actions.
When the play begins, MacBeth is a brave and loyal thane to King Duncan. However, after hearing a prophecy that he will become king himself, MacBeth is overcome by ambition and greed. Encouraged by the prophecy and his scheming wife, he kills King Duncan and seizes the throne.
MacBeth is put together with many character traits. He is a very complex character. In the beginning MacBeth was brave and loyal. He won the battle of Norway and became the Thane of Cawdor. For brave MacBeth disdainding fortune with his brandished steel which smoked with bloody execution(ACT1 SC2 LNS18-20).
