Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I mount my mecmesin test stand to another test gauge?

Each Mecmesin test stand is supplied with a dedicated ‘dovetailed mounting bracket’ and screws for this purpose. If you wish to mount to another type of stand, ensure that the screws used are threaded into the gauge to a maximum depth of 12mm. If screws are fitted beyond this depth, damage to the internal PCB or loadcell may occur.

  • How do I connect my AFG to mecmesin’s smart transducers?

The AFG must be powered down when connecting or disconnecting smart transducers. All Advanced Force Gauges have a 15-pin ‘Smart’ connector port on the left-hand side for interface with Mecmesin external ‘Smart’ force and torque sensors. This allows you to use your existing AFG to perform additional tests without the need for a dedicated instrument.

  • How do I connect a mecmesin AFG to a multitest-DV Mark 2?

Connect the 15-pin D connector to the top socket of the AFG, and the opposite end of the cable to the RJ11 plug (marked 'Gauge'), located on the rear of the stand: For MultiTest- dV Mark 2 Interlock Enabled stands, a Mecmesin AFG digital force gauge is connected to the test stand using cable ( part no. 351-103).

  • How can I calibrate my mecmesin instrument?

Download copies of the traceability certificates relating to the verification equipment used by Mecmesin UK to calibrate your instruments. If you are based in the UK, Ireland or France you can arrange for our engineers to calibrate your Mecmesin force or torque tester.
