Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I design my own rocket?

This is accomplished with a rocket "simulation" program. RockSim was the first software that combines both "design" and "simulation" into one seamless program. What that means is that you create a drawing of the rocket, and simply click a button to see how that design will perform.

  • How do modelers determine whether a rocket will travel safely?

  • How do you put rocket parts in RockSim?

The parts in the rocket are arranged from the tip of the nose cone, down to the base of the motor. Sounds simple, right? For example, you put the engine mount into the body tube -- and that's the way you input the parts into RockSim too.
