You can use this method to play back any source through MadVR. I tested some 1080p netflix content and had MadVR upscale it to 4K. Looked great. GPU is set to 0-255. MadVR is set to 16-235. This is the recommended setup for best image quality if your display can't do 0-255. This setup results in banding-free MadVR image quality. However, levels for desktop and games will be incorrect, because desktop and games will render black at 0,0,0, while the display expects black at 16,16,16.

Now the price for a used one is still over £3K. MadVR gets talked about very highly, I just don’t like the idea of having to fiddle with a pc and it does not work with the Apple TV. Now the Envy does sound very interesting as you read further through the threads.
Set MadVR to its default video processing settings and/or set image upscaling to DXVA2; 8GB of the fastest RAM you can find should be run in dual-channel mode (2 x 4GB - only applies to AMD APUs); Use of 3D LUTs or tone mapping by pixel shaders are unlikely.
