Locate the mass air flow sensor by consulting your owner’s manual. Unplug the part from the vehicle’s electrical system. 2 Remove the Sensor With the sensor unplugged, loosen the clamps and any brackets holding it in place. Slide the sensor assembly away from the tubing and carefully remove from the air intake boot (s). 3 Clean the Sensor

Locate the sensor element Use MAF cleaner to thoroughly clean the element and allow to dry while using a shop towel to wipe away any remaining residue. (Note: do not touch the element) Gently reinstall the sensor back into the air intake tube or air filter housing. Reinsert mounting screws and tighten to specification (usually hand tight).

This particle accumulation over time results in poor performance of the sensor. Cleaning the MAF sensor is often relatively straightforward. Just remove the sensor head from the MAF sensor housing and carefully clean the sensor head with an electronic cleaner or a specific sensor cleaner like this one:
The Mass Air Flow Sensor or MAF sensor is an important part for most car engines to function properly. It controls how much air is entering the car engine and then sends this information to the engine control unit, which controls how much fuel the fuel injectors should inject into the engine.
Step 1 - Locate the mass air flow sensor located in the air intake portion of the air filter or intake tube. Step 2 - Once the sensor has been located, release the wiring connector to the sensor. Step 3 - After the electrical connector has been removed, loosen and remove the sensor mounting screws.
What goes wrong? When the MAF is in operation intake air from the engine passes through it which has impurities which are not removed by the air filter such as heavy air practical's.
The DC resistance (RDC) is also an important characteristic. This is because, if the DC resistance is high, the power consumption increases, and the signal level also drops. MAF1608G has achieved a low resistance of 0.06Ω (typical value).
MAF1608F has even more striking THD+N characteristics. Figure 7 is a graph which compares the THD+N characteristics versus the output of chip beads (TDK MPZ1608S) and MAF1068F (measured at a frequency of 1kHz, and load of RL=8Ω+33μF).
Using the basic FMA3100 thermal mass flow sensor, the FMA3200 mass flow controllers offer accurate control of gas flows in a compact package ideal for many OEM applications. The FMA-2600A Series mass and volumetric flow controllers use the principle of differential pressure within a laminar flow field to determine and control mass flow rate.
Alicat offers a wide range of mass flow meters, including both differential-pressure based and Coriolis technologies. There are many custom build options for our differential-pressure mass flow meters, including anti-corrosive, high-pressure, and low pressure drop options – with portable versions also available for each.
