1996 Mainship 40 Sedan Bridge This 1996 Mainship 40ft Sedan Bridge is powered by twin Cummins 330 Diesel engines that have only 600 house on them. They should be very good friends at that. It is a good solid boat for the money. i would give it an 9.5 on a scale of 10 in the value dept. It is a simple boat to work on if you are a dyi sort of owner. The factory workmanship focused more on servicablity than pretty especially below deck. Not a brown bagger, but no prom queen either.
They have a teak sole and nice cherry paneling throughout the cabin. Mine has the single engine Yanmar 370 hp engine. That engine will push it to 14-15 kts at a comfortable fast cruising rpm of 2,800 but it is noisy at that speed.
Listed light weight is 15,000 lbs which is a couple of thousand more than similar DEs. I have no complaints at all with the build quality- scantlings, tabbing, components,finish, etc.
Mainship is popular for their Trawler, Cruisers, Motor Yachts, Downeast and Express Cruiser among other classes and models.
Boat Trader currently has 72 Mainship boats for sale, including 0 new vessels and 72 used boats listed by both individual owners and professional dealers mainly in United States. The oldest model listed is a late classic boat built in 1979 and the newest model year was built in 2007.
