The completed cut file is then sent to the laser cutter's job management system. If you want to enlarge a particular model by 150%, that original 4" x 36" sheet of balsa now is scaled up to 6" x 54". Immediately, there are two problems: 1) 54" wide balsa is not available, and 2) the laser cutter has a maximum cutting width of 36".

Oct 04, 2016 . Pat Tritle named her the 'Laser Master' and she relished that title over the years, and, yes, 99% of the kits we sold were from her cutting. For a couple of years she was Manzano Laser Works, putting in 50 or 60 hrs a week at a far lower pay rate than most would put up with.

What is laser cutting? Laser cutting is the process of turning a 2D file into a physical object by directing the output of a high-powered laser beam through optics onto a small zone of the material, the beam can then cut and engrave it with high precision. This process can be performed on a variety of materials.
The laser cutting process can cut parts with a thickness up to 10mm! You can use a 2D vector file for the laser cutting process, made with vector graphics software.
In most cases, a computer will direct the beam of the laser by tracing a pre-programmed path. To laser cut wood can involve the use of either MDF material or Plywood material. Both materials are made out of several layers of wood, making it a strong material capable of handling the laser’s output.
