There is no mechanism in sonarr to keep track of and/or retry failed copy operations. It logs a warning, telling the user something went wrong and they need to fix whatever is causing it, and that’s it. Usually this either always happens, pointing to an underlying issue that needs to be resolved, or never.

However with those settings I was unable to access my external drives so I need to change the user and group, I’ve tried removing sonarr, deleting the user and group and installing it, but it always sets up as sonarr user and group only. You should use a umask of 002 which translates to 775 for folders and 664 for files. The umask in the service file probably causes the files to get the right permissions, so doing it inside Sonarr isn't needed. You can check and see. There is no mechanism in sonarr to keep track of and/or retry failed copy operations. It logs a warning, telling the user something went wrong and they need to fix whatever is causing it, and that’s it. Usually this either always happens, pointing to an underlying issue that needs to be resolved, or never.
NZBget creates files which have no read or write permission for other users. NZBget runs as user “NZBget” and I think Sonarr as “nzbdrone”. Is it possible to change the Sonarr user to NZBget?
The strange thing is that the file access works for most of the downloads. Only a few times the permissions are not right and Sonarr has no access. Or do you know a different way?
