Jan 20, 2008 . Monitor 441 Heater. 01-21-2008, 12:39 PM. Have a Monitor 441, about 10+ years old. It came with the house . This is a kerosene vented heater. Last night the outside temp was about 8F and the unit stopped working. The fire ring will burn but shortly after the heat exchanger fan goes on, the fire goes out and the unit shuts down.

Push your reset button and turn on the heater. Foam will probably come out first, and possibly your heater will time out because while bleeding, you can't maintain a proper flame either and the system will shut down - this is OK. Wait a couple minutes and reset it again. Soon you should see relatively clear K-1.

Nov 19, 2016 . Problem with Monitor 441 kero heater. I tried fixing my kerosene monitor heater as it fires but the flame with not continue just before the recirculating fan kicks in. I tried also checking all possibilities of the cause of the problem but seems not succesful. Any advise from you out there is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Upvote. tinoM.

Since 1984, Monitor Products, Inc. (MPI) has offered a wide range of home heating solutions including gas-, oil- and kerosene-fueled heaters. In 1994, MPI began selling the Monitor 441 (M441) kerosene-fueled heating system to replace the Monitor 41 (M41) heater introduced in 1988.
The Flame Ring or Burner Ring on the Monitor 441 often warps with time causing intermittent operation and soot buildup. It can be replaced through the access to the combustion chamber. Make sure you also order the chamber gasket below. You can clean and rebuild a burner pot by replacing the mat.
