Steps to restore the My Passport Wireless Pro device: Power ON the device After the device powers on, press and hold down the Power and WPS buttons on the device at the same time for approximately 10 seconds (see figure below). Wait until the Wi-Fi LED stops flashing before using the device
To set up a Passport, click the Start button and choose Control Panel. The Control Panel dialog box opens. (Alternatively, you can set up a Passport in your browser: Type http://www.Passport.com in the Address bar and press Enter.)
Connect the supplied USB or FireWire cable to the Passport drive. Connect the Passport drive to your computer with the USB/FireWire cable. The picture below shows how to plug the drive into your computer. You will see Windows automatically install drivers for the Passport drive.
Back Up Automatically — The My Passport Ultra drive comes equipped with WD Backup software to help make sure your photos, videos, music and documents don’t get lost. You can set it to run automatically to your schedule. Just pick the time and frequency to back up important files from your system onto your My Passport Ultra drive.
Registering Your Drive Always register your My Passport Ultra drive to get the latest updates and special offers. You can easily register your drive using the WD Drive Utilities software, as described in “Registering the Drive” on page 46. Another way is to register online at http:// register.wdc.com.
