As the name of the village suggests, Namche Bazaar has a market. Every Friday and Saturday morning, Sherpas from the surrounding valleys spread out their agricultural products and electronic goods carried from Kathmandu on land above the main path into town.
The sightseeing attractions in and around Namchi are Solophok Chardham, Samdruptse Hills, Tendong State Biodiversity Park, Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary, Ngadak Monastery and more. Q. Is Sikkim Safe for the travelers?
Namchi Sikkim Namchi at an altitude of 1675mt is a scenic settlement of South Sikkim. Dotted with sacred temples and monasteries, the town has emerged as a religious center of Sikkim in recent years. The most iconic monument in Namchi is the grandiose statue of Guru Padmasambhava sited atop the Samdruptse Hill.
In addition, as Namche is the first place on the Khumbu trek that is above altitude sickness threshold, most travelers prefer to spend at least two nights here in order to acclimatize.
