Effective UAS Terrain Following for UXO Magnetometry. Unmanned aerial systems (UASs) provide an effective platform for deploying magnetometers and other sensors to locate unexploded ordnance (UXO) rapidly and safely. Detecting small (<100mm) UXO targets, however, requires a tight (<5 m) grid spacing, flying the sensor close to the ground ...

These millimeter wave radar sensors provide an ideal solution for low-power, self-monitored, ultra-accurate radar systems in industrial applications, such as building automation, factory automation, drones, material handling, traffic monitoring, and surveillance.
The application of millimeter-wave radar in railway trains has also been greatly developed. Millimeter-wave radars can be classified into Long-Range Radar (LRR) and Short-Range Radar (SRR). Since the millimeter wave is weakly attenuated in the atmosphere, it is possible to detect a farther distance.
Using millimeter wave radar allows for small antennas. A parabolic antenna can be “aimed” by mechanically orientating it in the desired direction, which is limited by the speed of mechanical movement, as well as reliability and cost issues. Instead, electronic beam steering is used.
Compared with ultrasonic radar, millimeter-wave radar has the characteristics of small size, lightweight, and high spatial resolution. Millimeter-wave radar has a strong ability to penetrate fog, smoke, and dust when compared with optical sensors such as infrared sensors, laser sensors, and cameras.
