Our Nature Play category is all about creating natural playground play using nature to do so. We use, Robinia wood and other hardwoods and pine, and we use our design expertise to make sure our natural play structures are fit for nature-based and nature-inspired playgrounds.
An inclusive natural playground is a naturalized environment that incorporates nature into a space with opportunities for children for all abilities to experience different elements of nature and move their bodies in a variety of playful ways. In play design, variety of movement and graduated challenges are the key to sustaining play for all.
Playground safety means inspecting a playground, and playing safely in the area. Playground safety may help keep your child safe while he plays and will decrease his risk for injury. Be alert to safety issues wherever your child plays.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) develops safety guidelines for commercial and home playground equipment. The CPSC has a list of safety standards contained in an official handbook. These standards are voluntary and are not required by law, but they are designed to help keep children safer in play areas.
Visit the American Academy of Pediatrics webpage on playground safety to learn more. The American Academy of Pediatrics cautions that children should not wear or play with anything that could get caught on equipment and become a strangulation hazard.
