Product Lines Navigator Stove Works has four models of cast iron stove. The Sardine, Little Cod and Halibut use wood, while the Herring is a Biodiesel / diesel stove. The Sardine measures 12x 2 x 11 inches and has an efficiency of 86%. The Little Cod measures 13 x 18 x 13.75 inches, with an efficiency of 74%.
If a stove building venture were lucky, there would also be a porcelain enamel shop nearby. Times have changed and the current climate is very different. In order to source the best available iron/bronze castings, porcelain enamel, and sheet metal items, we procure our components from various sources in the USA & Europe.

Dec 18, 2013 . We have a Herring diesel stove from Navigator Stove Works on Orcas Island, and have been very happy with the combination. It draws beautifully and we had no downdraft at all in a 30-35 knot blow while at anchor. We generally don't run the stove while underway, so I can't comment about performance on port vs starboard tacks.
