VLANs are very easy in pfsense, the hard part is learning the switch side. I just did a video how to create VLANs on my video. Getting started is easy. Just make a VLAN and put all the IoT devices on it. pfSense does implicit deny so you don't actually need to make a firewall rule to block intervlan communications.
