Step 1: Go to your phones Wi-Fi settings and connect to your Netool.io device’s Wi-Fi Access point. Step 2: Open the Netool.io App Step 3: Tap the Local Devices icon on the far right of the menu. Step 4: Tap on the Netool.io device that you connected to in step 1 under the Local Netool (Wi-Fi) listing.If the device does not appear tap refresh a few times.

If the Netool.io thing had a Bluetooth radio then the app could just whisper to it. Or if the Netool.io thing would connect to my guest WiFI and then report back to the cloud that would be fine too. Standard usage of the Netool.io device. Toggle this option to discover important information about your ethernet port. Allows you to plug a netool into the line going back to a host and devices and detect their MAC address, IP address, VLAN id or OUI Company.
I’ve got both, pockethernet isn’t as polished but is a much better product. Functionality is better as is performance, also won’t get fried if you patch in to a passive POV switch like the netool. If I could have only one it would be pockethernet every time. Oh netool also had a big update yesterday.
Troubleshooting: If after you connect to the devices Wi-Fi via your phone/tablets Wi-Fi settings, the device is not being found in Local Netool (Wi-Fi) tap the refresh button. If the device does not appear after refreshing navigate back to your phones Wi-Fi settings and make sure you are still connected to the devices Wi-Fi.
