Usually, when I start up the pressure cook setting and turn the valve to Seal position, it stays in place. The valve seems very loose (it arrived like this), but an internet search showed that that is apparently normal. All I do is put the lid on, move the value to the left so its in "seal" position, and that's it. Sometimes, it works, other times (probs half the time i reckon), it will start releasing steam from the quick release value, even though its in the seal position.

Quick Pressure Release: Use ONLY if your recipe calls for it. When pressure cooking is complete and the KEEP WARM light comes on, turn the pressure release valve to the VENT position to release the steam. Now shut the Ninja Foodi by placing a pressure lid on. Following the arrow on the lid with an arrow on the front of the Ninja cooker base. Now turn the pressure lid clockwise; the lid will lock into place. Turn the pressure release valve to the SEAL position on the pressure lid.
Below I go over how to use the Ninja Foodi deluxe water test. Start by adding 3 cups water to the cooking pot, place the pressure lid on, turn the lid clockwise to lock, seal the release valve, select the pressure button.
Some steam will still remain in the Ninja Foodi even after clearing pressure naturally or using the pressure release valve, The remaining steam will escape when the pressure lid is opened. Raise lids and tilt it away from you, to make sure none of the condensation under the lid drips back into the Ninja Foodi cooker base.
1/2C. Natural Pressure Release: After pressure cooking is finished, steam will naturally release from the Ninja Foodi as it cools down. This can take about 20 minutes or more, depending on the volume of liquid and ingredients in the cooking pot.

In addition to having loads of surface space for searing meats and sautéing veggies, the Ninja Foodi also has five stove-top temperature settings. Use the Ninja Foodi just as you would your stovetop; move between Low, Medium Low, Medium, Medium High, and High.
The Ninja Foodi is used just like most air fryers and pressure cookers but combined in one. If you are going to use the Ninja as a pressure cooker, you need to use its pressure-cooking lid and know what each button means, such as Pressure and Sear / Sauté.
Select between Low and High pressure, set the cooking time, place the pressure release valve in the Seal position, and you are done! The Slow Cook button lets you make recipes that need many hours of cooking at shallow temperatures. The Ninja Foodi is equipped with both Low and High slow cooking settings.
