When Offshore Electrics was founded in 2000, its goal was was to make rc boating a hobby that is accessible to a larger group of people. As an activity that takes up large amounts of time, money, and effort, it has, in the past, been an incredibly exclusive community.

The design life of an Offshore turbine is 25 years. The trend for longer design life on all turbines is due to the maturing of the industry – asset owners now expect to operate wind farms for such periods without the technology becoming obsolete or unsupported by suppliers. The design driver for many components is fatigue loading when generating.

All Offshore cable installation (export and array cables) involves the following activities: Cable lay Cable burial Cable pull-in (to turbine, substation or shore), and Electrical testing and termination.
Recommended practices for design, deployment, and operation of Offshore wind turbines in the United States Initial planning activities which include site development, ecological issues, socio-economic issues and other leasing and permitting issues not covered
• A radial (point to point) link connecting the Offshore generation to the proposed grid connection point onshore; • A radial plus / Offshore hub system, which connect a number of Offshore wind farms into an Offshore grid connection point; or
Subsea electrical installations introduce new challenges as more complex subsea process systems are installed in deeper waters and greater step-out distances, including the selection of the appropriate regulation and codes that can be challenging as most regulation in the past did not consider the submarine aspect.
The Offshore Marine Environment Environment is the enemy Offshore! • Salty Sea spray, constant humidity, and hot sun. • Condensing moisture several hours per day - complete electrolytic cell (anode, cathode, metallic path, path for ionization)
• Determine the scope of an electrical design project. Interpret the various components of an electrical plan, including general and specialized loads, lighting systems, and distribution systems. Recognize the symbols used in electrical plan design. Identify the standards and regulations that guide the electrical design process. Chapter Outline
The proj- ect scope is determined by the customers’ require- ments and the type of structure that the customer will occupy. For example, if the project requires new electrical systems for an existing building, then the electrical designer works to incorporate all the new electrical wiring into the existing system.
