Oct 31, 2014 . Re: fuel consumption? 7kw Onan. « Reply #4 on: October 27, 2014, 09:09 PM ». Larger generators can actually use less fuel than a smaller one, depending on load. A 7000 watt generator will probably use less fuel than a 4000 with the same load. I have a 7000 watt generac and have never come close to bogging it down.

Jul 19, 2010 . Onan says your genset would use about 0.6 gal/hour at 50% load, meaning when producing a constant 2,750 watts (23 amps). That's about what two a/c's would draw if running continuously. One a/c is obviously less, about half that. The fridge would be insignificant - maybe another 2 amp (240 watts) on average.

The Onan 3600 LP generator is really similar to the Onan 4000. It meets the National Park Service sound level requirements and USDA Forest Service parts. As with the 4000, it comes with microprocessor controls for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Plus, it comes with quiet operation.
The fuel consumption for the Onan 5500 LP is worse than the regular 5500. It gets 0.4 gallons per hour with no load, 0.8 gallons per hour with half load, and 1.1 gallons per hour with a full load. If you compare this to the 5500, the LP goes through 0.1 t o.2 gallons per hour more with every load type.
Cummins Onan Generators is a brand of Cummins Power Generation, a subsidiary of Cummins Inc. The ComfortGuard APU system is powered by a two-cylinder diesel engine - the same engine as used in many Onan RV generators where it has earned a reputation for low noise and low vibration.
While the most common fuel consumption of diesel generator generally is 200g/kw*h, if with liter unit, it means 0.238L/kw*h mechanical loss power is about 250KW, so the result of calculation is 250KW*0.238=59L/h . The fuel consumption has a direct relation with load.
A propane generator will consume about 3 gallons of propane per hour of use. The fuel consumption of the generator depends on the size of the generator and the power demand that is placed on it. Thus, average fuel consumption numbers are used prior to an inspection of the home for final numbers.
