Basic principles of the method. OncoThermia, i. e. modulated-electro-hyperthermia for oncological use, is a fast developing supportive, complementary treatment method against different types of tumors. The principles are based on the classical method of Hyperthermia, but our aim, besides the absolute increase in temperature, is especially the direct electric-field …

OncoThermia supports natural processes of the human body including apoptosis and immune system response. It is complementary to conventional oncological treatments and can be combined with all types of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. OncoThermia is not intended to serve as a sole cancer therapy.

OncoThermia Journal is the information platform for study results and practical experiences with the OncoThermia method and is an official magazine of the OncoTherm Group.
The energy dose of OncoThermia aims to maximise the effects of heat-shock proteins (HSPs), induction and regulation of apoptosis, signal transduction and modulation of chemo drug resistance. For example, it actually makes chemo drugs work better by reducing cellular resistance.
While traditional Hyperthermia functions solely via thermodynamic parameters, such as heat/temperature, OncoThermia functions by controlling absorbed energy doses. It does this via an approach similar to that used in radiation therapy by taking advantage of the differences in cellular structure and electrical charge.
Here at Pyatt Health we are proud to be the first clinic in Alberta, offering local regional hyperthermia with the OncoTherm EHY-2000+ medical device. This is the only Health Canada approved medical device in Calgary offering hyperthermia (Health Canada Medical Device License No. :88986).
OncoThermia is a non-invasive cancer therapy designed to deal with primary tumours and metastases by combining two proven cancer therapies, those of Hyperthermia and Electrical Field cancer membrane destruction: 1.
The journal is published three times a year and gives an opportunity to doctors and other experts to share their study results or practical experiences with the method of OncoThermia. This way the method is supported and is made accessible to the public.
Hyperthermia has proven its exceptional value in cancer treatment. In Germany, hyperthermia, (modulated Electro-hyperthermia using the OncoTherm-2000 Plus device) has for many decades been part of the standard of care for cancer treatment, used concurrently with chemotherapy and radiation.
First and only Class III Licensed LRHT device in Canada (Health Canada Medical Device License No.: 88986) Local-Regional Hyperthermia is recognized as a treatment by the Canadian Cancer Society. WHAT IS HYPERTHERMIA?
