To get started quickly, use Windows 10. This allows you to use the “Binary Option” listed in the Oculus quick start guide I linked above. In short, I was able to use the latest released version of Unreal Engine 4 through the Epic Games Launcher.

This QuickStart uses the default OpenXR plugin that comes with Unreal Engine. However, downloading and using the official Microsoft OpenXR plugin is recommended. That requires the project to be a C++ project. Your new project should open up automatically in the Unreal editor, which means you're ready for the next section.
Luckily, Unreal has a special blueprint called a Level Blueprint that acts as a level-wide global event graph. Connecting the ARSessionConfig asset in the Level Blueprint guarantees the AR session will fire right when the game starts playing. Right-click anywhere in the EventGraph and create a new Event EndPlay node.
1 Open the Cesium for Unreal plugin page on the Unreal Engine Marketplace. 2 Sign in if needed and click on the Free button to install the plugin on your Unreal Engine account. 1 Launch Unreal Engine and create a new project. Select Game as the New Project Category and Blank as the Template. Other configurations will also work.
Launch the Unreal Editor. When the Project Browser comes up, click the New Project tab, select the C++ tab, and then select the Basic Code template. Make sure that you have Starter Content enabled, choose your preferred Save Location and Name for this project, and then click Create Project.
