It is located in an area in No.California where the summers are quite warm and the winters are very wet. We have the largest floor plan of Pacific yurts and find that our wood burning stove is ample for heating.

The time spent to install a Pacific Yurt will vary depending on your site, local conditions, number of people and which features the yurt has. Most times a smaller yurt is set up in a few hours, while a large yurt may take a weekend to install. It is best not to set a time limit for yourself and just follow the set up instructions provided.
Its standard prefab yurt packages are suitable for mild climates and feature architectural fabrics engineered to meet structural and performance requirements typically reserved for building materials. A solid wood door, clear vinyl windows, and a dome skylight are also included.

The yurt platform has two major components in it – the floor itself and the bender board that wraps around the floor and provides an attachment point for the yurt frame and fabric. The exact diameter of the platform needs to be the size of the yurt before the bender board is installed.
While yurts are not complex structures, they do require some general carpentry skills to build and set up. If you are a beginner, purchase a yurt kit to easily build your structure.
If you plan on installing a finished floor in your yurt (laminate, hardwood, tile, etc), you should consider adding a raised perimeter of 1×6 (20’ and larger) or 1×8 (12’ and 16’) on top of the subfloor before installing the bender board.
