PADAUK is a unique open grained hardwood from Africa that has a bright Vermillion color when first cut. Over time it slowly ages to a purple Rosewood color. Huge logs are sometimes available, producing beautiful, large boards. PADAUK is a good substitute for Indian rosewood for guitar backs and sides.

The PADAUK PMS150C is a terrible microcontroller. There are only six pins, there’s only one kiloword of Flash, 64 bytes of RAM, and it doesn’t do multiplication. You can only write code to this chip once, and the IDE uses 8-bit ints. [Anders] got his hands on some of these chips and decided to do something useful with them.
Can PADAUK be used in a cutting boad. PADAUK has very large open pores, so it would depend on what the cutting board is going to be used for. Some would say that you shouldn’t use these types of porous woods for things like cutting boards used for meats, as it will trap bacteria in these tiny holes.
The wood sands easily, but for a glass-smooth finish, we recommend a paste wood filler or sealer to even out its open grain. Clear finishes should contain an ultraviolet inhibitor to reduce PADAUK's tendency to darken.
