I would be interested in seeing examples (including full resolution crops) where care was taken to optimized the results. Steve Note: The Pakon's maximum pixel resolution of 3000 x 2000 is equivalent to a best case resolution of about 2000 dpi.

Best of luck! The Pakon beats the v600 in effective DPI. The v600 only gives around 1560 dpi, while the Pakon is around 2000 dpi. Also I've read the Pakon software setup and it should be a breeze for me. I'm definitely sold on the Pakon but I'm trying to reason $370 CAD on it, especially when I doubt I can sell my $200 v600.

Pakon is a tool for monitoring the activity of devices inside a local network. It collects and stores information about network activity and allows you to view and filter records. Pakon utilizes Suricata - an open-source Intrusion Detection System.
Go to the Foris configuration interface, which can be found by default on https://192.168.1.1 In the Updater tab, you need to choose Pakon and press Save changes. After a while reload the page and in the left menu, you'll see Pakon. You need to install it only once and after each accessing the Foris you'll see it.

The main difference between the Pakon F-135 non-plus & Plus scanner. Using the PSI software the non-plus scans at a (4 Base) 1000x1500ppi about 4x6 @300dpi & (8 base) 1500x3000ppi about 5x7 @ 300dpi files. The Plus scans at the (4 Base), (8 Base) and the (16 base) 2000x3000ppi about 8x10 @ 300dpi files.
The scanner was never intended to scan traditional bw film and only has a setting for bw C41 film which is why normal bw film turns out sepia. The Pakon definitely struggles with the high contrast and intense grain of the film and blows out most of the highlights. The sharpness is amazing and the shadow detail is also very good.
The films lighting source now uses a LED based system instead of the 50-watt SoLux halogen type bulb of Pakon's F235 series scanners that need to be replaced periodically. The unit weighs 4kg and dimensions are at 317 x 343 x 406mm.
Nevertheless, the Pakon is the better scanner for 35mm, because of the way superior sharpness, color scans and speed. The V600, being a flatbed, is also able to scan 120, which it does quite well. I've kept that scanner mainly because I also need to scan my Medium Format film.
