Panzera fits the Aquamarine 45 with a Miyota 820A movement. It features hacking and hand-winding, 21 jewels, and the day and date functions mentioned earlier. It beats at 21,600bph (6 beats per second). It is a workhorse movement, but is completely appropriate for this price point (plus you get to enjoy that Miyota wobble from time to time).

I am pleased to get my first up close look at the Panzera Aquamarine 45. The Aquamarine ranges in price from $555 for the all stainless steel finished model to $645 for the Rose IP plated model. The model that is the subject of this review is the black IP, which retails for $575.
All the past watch models from Panzera could be considered either pilot style or dress. The Aquamarine is the first attempt by Panzera to jump into the sport/dive watch venue and thank goodness, they did not just throw out some stale looking timepiece.
The lume is quite good, as Panzera uses Superluminova. The greenish white lume is bight, and the design of the hands and markers makes it very legible. Even the seconds hand is lumed. The hour and minute hands are sword-shaped and skeletonized.
The Panzera Aquamarine lume glows well enough for a short period of time, and should not be a problem telling the time in a darkened room for a few hours. Powering the Panzera Aquamarine is Miyota automatic movement. It is a 21 jewel Miyota so my assumption is that the movement is some variation of the 8215 allowing for a day/date complication.
With 200m of water resistance, the Aquamarine 45 falls under the Sea category. It doesn’t have a rotating bezel, but the cushion-shaped case and beefy lugs give it a resemblance to a Panerai Radiomir, which is considered a dive watch. Panzera says that it is “built for the action and lifestyle found along the rugged Australian coastline.”
Powering the Panzera Aquamarine is Miyota automatic movement. It is a 21 jewel Miyota so my assumption is that the movement is some variation of the 8215 allowing for a day/date complication. Like many of you, I am not a huge fan of the 8200 series Miyota movements.
So, when Panzera, an Australian outfit from Sydney launched the Panzera Aquamarine, not taking the obvious Submariner homage route but instead, opting to provide consumers with a quality alternative to Panerai, my intrigue was peaked.
