PARA is an acronym for Projects, Areas of Responsibility, Resources, and Archives. According to this system, you put each piece of digital information into one of these categories. Then, you use the four-category filing system across all digital platforms.
In the bigger picture, the PARA system helps you tackle things more effectively at work and in your personal life. Essentially, it helps you organize everything you have to do and all relevant information connected to it.
Let’s take a look at how this organization method actually works. PARA is an acronym for Projects, Areas of Responsibility, Resources, and Archives. According to this system, you put each piece of digital information into one of these categories. Then, you use the four-category filing system across all digital platforms.
Resources are interests (web design, crowdfunding, woodworking, frisbee golf, bio-hacking), themes (psychology, politics, leadership, integrity), and assets (stock photos, typography links, marketing swipe file, product testimonials, code snippets).
Using areas as the top level of the hierarchy means that, even if I collapsed all the stacks, I would still be faced with 22 notebooks. This means 22 starting points to find whatever I’m looking for (below left). Compare this with the simplicity of only 4 top-level categories (below right), each of which can be expanded or hidden as needed.

One that supported and enhanced the work you do, telling you exactly where to put a piece of information, and exactly where to find it when you needed it. This system would have to be:
