Parkinson disease is a slowly progressive, degenerative disorder characterized by resting tremor, stiffness (rigidity), slow and decreased movement (bradykinesia), and eventually gait and/or postural instability. Diagnosis is clinical.
Other hand exercises work on isolating each individual finger, bending and flexing them repeatedly. According to a study from the University of Granada, doing simple hand exercises for just fifteen minutes greatly improved strength and dexterity for people with Parkinson’s disease.
It will also teach professionals about the signs and symptoms of PD and the important ways in which exercise can improve those symptoms, as well as how to describe common PD symptoms and clearly explain the benefits of exercise to those with PD. All of those who complete the training course will receive a certificate of completion.
