The INT-60 weighs 93lbs. Overall dimensions are 19 x 21.2 x 7.6 inches. For comparison purposes, the Pass Labs INT-30A integrated amplifier introduced back in 2009 with much fanfare, is a pure class A design rated at 30 watts at 8 ohms and 60 watts at 4 ohms. It weighs in at 60lbs.
The Pass Labs was a master of serving the extremes in audio reproduction. Timbral contrasts were more vividly distinguished. The baritone sax deployed on Jen Chapin’s ReVisions [Chesky] retained the throaty weight and dark resonance that can be constricted and diminished in the company of smaller, less-pedigreed amplifiers.
Pass Labs INT-250 Integrated Amplifier - "It's Good To Be The King!" "It's good to be the King!" While sitting back and listening to the Pass Labs INT-250 integrated amplifier, I couldn't help but giggle and think about this infamous line from Mel Brook's underground 1981 classic film, History of the World, Part I.
At Pass Labs we build Fet amplifiers with excessive output stages, huge heat sinks and massive power supplies. We use the highest quality components in simple linear topologies, assembled and tested with care and subtlety. They measure well, sound great, and are reliable.
He managed to explain pretty well the setup and the whole system of a Pass Aleph 1.2 monoblock power amplifier, but his analog source was a VPI TNT III. If he had chose a RF combiner for example, because it manages to combine RF from a number of different sources, he might have been much more to the point.
US-made, International Rectifier, HexFET power MOSFETs are used exclusively for all of the Aleph 0's gain stages. Input devices are matched to within 0.2%, output devices to within 2%. Each output MOSFET is capable of handling peaks of 25 amps; two banks of eight MOSFETs are run in parallel.
The Aleph 1.2 is equipped with a balanced input featuring a common-mode input noise rejection of –60dB, accomplished through a Passive network tied directly into the input stage of the amplifier. There is no additional active input circuitry. Unbalanced inputs are accommodated by RCA connectors.
John Atkinson, too, is a hard man, at least when it comes to audio gear. When, in January 2014, he reviewed the Pass Laboratories XA60.5 monoblock amplifier, he concluded, "It is the best-sounding amplifier I have ever used."
