With the success of the INT-150 under its belt, Pass Labs has taken the next logical step by releasing not one but two new integrated offerings, the INT-60 and INT-250. Both are Class AB designs with heavy Class A bias based on Pass Labs’ latest Point 8 Series of amplifiers.
The Pass Labs was a master of serving the extremes in audio reproduction. Timbral contrasts were more vividly distinguished. The baritone sax deployed on Jen Chapin’s ReVisions [Chesky] retained the throaty weight and dark resonance that can be constricted and diminished in the company of smaller, less-pedigreed amplifiers.

It is a massive and powerful amplifier created by the "G-d of Monster Amplifiers", Nelson Pass. His simple yet brute power amplifiers have dominated the high power end of ultimate audio for decades. His Pass Labs Aleph 0, Aleph 3 and X1000 monoblock power amplifiers were Stereophile 's Products of 1996, 1997 and 1999 for amplifiers.

According the XA25's well-written owner's manual, it will deliver 50W peaks into 2, 4, or 8 ohms— in class-A . As Nelson Pass, founder of Pass Labs and the XA25's designer, writes in that manual: "The signal path from input to output has been simplified to fewer components. Degeneration, 'the other form of feedback' has been eliminated.
A nerdy audiophile, IB kept switching back and forth between the $25,000 ASR and the $5000 Pass Labs XA25. "The ASR seems more linear across all frequencies with the Quads. It sounds more coherent across the board, but veiled next to the Pass."
Driven by the Pass Labs XA25, the Magnepan .7s did real-life natural with ease and élan. As it had with IB's ancient Quads, the XA25 got a firm grip on the Maggies' membranes.
