As you’re aware, the Patriot 1800 comes with a solar panel kit included, so it’s easy to generate your home’s backup power without having to rely on the main power grid at all.
Page 21 two DC 12V 100-watt solar panels, you know that when connected to the Patriot Power Generator and in direct sunlight, the panels will give 200 Watts of DC at 12V energy to the battery. The battery has a capacity of 768 watt-hours, so it will take roughly 3.5–4.5 hours of direct sunlight to charge the Patriot Power Generator.
If the Patriot 1800 was at 0% and needed to be recharged and the panel was in perfect conditions, it would take 6.9 hours to recharge the battery. There are two big problems with that. First, since perfect conditions are extremely rare it will actually take more than 6.9 hours to charge.
