Patreon is a membership platform that enables creators to be paid by their fans. One of our core behaviors is to put creators first, and these terms attempt to do that. We know that most people skim through terms of use because they’re boring, but we have done everything we can to make this easy to get through.

It's easy to become a Patron - whether you are able to pledge a little or a lot. You do not need to pay to join Patreon but you do need to join if you want to become a paying supporter. And it's really important to remember that even a little support is such a huge boost to a creator.
You should start a Patreon if the product you're creating requires little overhead and upfront costs . This goes back to crowdfunding. You cannot rely on Patreon to create your art. The art comes first, then the Patrons.
