For natural products analyses, it is common to monitor 220 nm and 274 nm to determine analytes of interest. The photo diode array (PDA), also known as the diode array detector (DAD) can measure the entire wavelength range in real time, which may provide other advantages.

The 2998 PDA detector is for research use only. Calibrating To calibrate LC systems, follow acceptable calibration methods using at least five standards to generate a standard curve. The concentration range for standards should include the entire range of QC samples, typical specimens, and atypical specimens.
The PDA100A2 is an amplified, switchable-gain, Silicon (Si) detector designed for detection of light signals ranging from 320 nm to 1100 nm. An eight-position rotary switch allows the user to vary the gain in 10 dB steps. A buffered output drives 50 Ω load impedances up to 5 V.
After all peaks have been detected, the maximum absorbance wavelength for each peak can be determined. A PDA detector can collect spectra of each peak and calculate the absorbance maximum. • Detection of multiple wavelengths. A PDA detector can monitor a sample at more than one wavelength.
PDA detectors provide three-dimensional information that allows an accurate assessment of peak identity, purity, and qua ntitation in a single run. Software support for PDA detectors includes peak purity and spectral library search functions to help determine peak homogeneity and identity.
