Open up the Settings app, then go to "Cellular," followed by "Cellular Data Network." Now, in addition to the "h2g2" fields mentioned before, you'll want to change "http://fi.g.co/mms/wapenc" to "http://m.fi.goog/mms/wapenc" and add "23456789" into the MMS Max Message Size field. And that's it.

It will probably work, but may not work as well as they or you may want. The iPhone is not a compatible phone in Project Fi's eyes, so they will not support, nor try and diagnose, the issue you and your friend are having. Hangouts is an alternative because SMS/MMS goes through Google servers instead of the carrier, then to the app.

One reason why you MMS is not working on your phone is that there is an issue with the Messages app. You can try to fix that by clearing the Messages app's app data. On your phone, go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Messages > Storage. Tap on the option that says Clear Storage followed by Clear Cache.

You need to install the Project Fi APN settings that are given below with all the guides. Go to “Home” and then tap on “Settings.” Look for the option of “Wireless and Networks” and go there There you will see “Mobile and Networks.” Now choose that option Now tap on “Acess Point Names.” Some android phones have the option of “Menu.”
In your iOS device, select Settings and then Cellular. Check that Cellular Data is turned on. Tap Cellular Data Options and then Cellular Data Network. Press the Home button to save the APN and exit to the main screen. Now, restart iOS to apply new Project Fi MVNO 2 APN settings. Tap Save.
