Cable should not be installed when temperatures are less than the cold bend temperature rating of the cable product plus 15°C (i.e., minimum installation temperature = cold bend temperature rating + 15°C). For example, when installing a cable with a cold bend temperature rating of -25°C, the minimum recommended installation temperature is – 10°C.
Cable damaged during installation can cause service failures. Mechanical stresses during installation are generally more severe than those encountered while in service. The following information provides guidance in recognizing these conditions and pro- vides a methodology to aid in keeping them within acceptable limits.
