But a QP doesn’t just need expertise in manufacturing practice. They also need to understand the factors that can affect the safety of medicines and supply chains.

Where can a QP work on the NHS?

QPs often work in pharmaceutical companies. But there are some NHS roles for QPs, too, in departments which hold a manufacturer’s authorisation to create investigational medicinal products. You do not have to attend any additional courses to become a Qualified Person.

How do I record my CPD as a QP?

As a QP, recording your CPD will identify your commitment to maintaining your professional competence. Using our CPD framework is voluntary, but if you send an appropriate return, the date will be noted in the QP Register. Use our online CPD tool to record your CPD.
