Dec 12, 2018 . For those who have built or used the Hendricks QRP tuner sold by Pacific Antenna, this is the same circuit without the enclosure, and includes the SWR indicating LED. The total cost of both kits was 35 dollars plus shipping. If you have never put together a kit before I'd highly recommend the Dummy Load.

On both 40m and 20 meters the resonant frequency on the tripod is a little higher on the tripod. Not much but measurable, 14.18 vs. 14.10mhz; 7.204 vs. 7.260mhz. On 20 meters it is unimportant as the antenna is broad enough that it makes no substantive difference. On 40 meters it might require adjustment of the vertical if one was changing ...

As mentioned on the QRPGuys site, the kit is based off of a design by Joe Everhart (N2CX)—an antenna setup he used extensively during the 2017 National Parks on the Air program. His full article can be read on the July 2017 issue of QRP Quarterly .
We have seen them in Altoid tins, built on wooden slats, and inductors wound on everything from pill bottles to pvc tubing. A quick search on Google will reveal many versions and modifications, and we have found they have been configured for 160, 80, 40, and 30 meters, all crystal controlled. The QRPGuys version, called the “MMM+” is for 40m.

Summary of FT8 FT8 is named after its developers, Steven Franke, K9AN, and Joe Taylor, K1JT. The “8” denotes mode's 8-frequency shift keying format. Tones are spaced at 6.25 Hz, and an FT8 signal occupies just 50 Hz.
FT8 transmits and receives only the bare essentials needed to make an amateur radio contact (QSO): Exhange of callsigns, readability report, signal strength report, and "best regards" ( "73" ). Because only this information can be sent, FT8 is not a "conversation" mode.
